Thurs 19 - Sat 21 Apr, Guildhall Theatre comedy
St Peters Hill Players A comedy/ farce by Philip King. It is 1943. In the vicarage of Merton-Cum-Middlewick we find Penelope, an ex-actress, and her husband, Reverend Lionel Toop. Miss Skillon, a churchgoer, comes to complain about Penelope's latest 'outrages', before Lionel leaves, on business, for the night. An old co-star of Penelope's, L/Cpl Clive Winton arrives to invite Penelope out. To dodge army regulations he puts on one of Lionel's suits, dog-collar and all! Add to this; a bishop and vicar who arrive early, a cockney maid, a bottle of cooking sherry and a German POW disguised as...a vicar! Who is the real Lionel? Ask Penelope, can't we?
