It is 1943, in a country vicarage. Miss Skillon, the local ‘Busy Body’, arrives to complain to the vicar, Lionel Toop, about his ex-actress wife, Penelope’s, behaviour in the village. Apparently she “Yoo Hoo-ed” a soldier!! Lionel later leaves for a concert engagement. An old co-star of Penelope’s, Clive, arrives to take her to a show. To relive old memories they re-enact a scene from a play they performed together. Miss Skillon returns, and thinking it is real, gets involved in the re-enactment. Now throw in a Bishop, another priest arriving early and an escaped German P.O.W. and..............!!!?
