Seventies rock & roll legends Showaddywaddy are rock `n` rolling their way to the Meres Leisure Centre in 2023 – for their first ever appearance in Grantham.
Showaddywaddy have long been established as Europe’s most successful ever exponents of retro-inspired rock & roll. Their record simply speaks for itself, with an incredible twenty-three UK top 40 hit singles, spanning an amazing forty years.
Their songs include UK top five hits “Under The Moon of Love,” “When,” “You Got What It Takes,” “Three Steps To Heaven,” “Hey Rock & Roll” and many more.
‘The Greatest Rock & Roll Band In The World’ is a bold statement but Showaddywaddy has lived up to that title for the last four decades. Their success ensures the band still play over one hundred UK live performances a year, posting the `sold out` notices at venue after venue.
Formed in the 1970s in Leicester from several local bands, and, after winning ATV`s `New Faces` TV programme, they have sold more than twenty million records worldwide and have toured all corners of the World extensively.
They scored the UK Christmas number one album in 1978, appeared on `Top of the Pops` on over fifty occasions and stormed the UK singles charts for a staggering 209 weeks.
Showaddywaddy have won continued acclaim for their live performances, enhancing their outstanding reputation as live artistes. So, for an unforgettable evening of live vintage rock `n` roll, get down to the Meres Leisure Centre and let the `Dancing Party` begin!
