I'm a local amateur artist (creating under the name Sharon Elizabeth Thomson- my maiden name - and my exhibition title is The Art of Sharon Elizabeth) that took up art again a few years ago. I go through phases of creation focusing on specific themes that are a current interest for me.
I have exhibited at the Guildhall twice before. The first time it was all about trees which I am extremely passionate about, the second was about the moon following on from the amazing moon installation by Luke Jerram at St Wulframs as part of the Gravity Fields activity. This time my works are a reflection on staying sane during the pandemic. I spent my time during lockdown, as did many others, listening to music and watching films which led me to create portraits of some of my favourite musical influences and actors. It's almost a thank you to those people and I hope others will appreciate the sentiment.
I'm an ex KGGS girl living back in Grantham after many years away in Germany and am very happy to be back in the town. I know some might find Grantham boring but it's about opportunities and excitement around you. It's everywhere if you just open your eyes. Grantham really isn't as bad as some may think.
